Diane Walsh, PhD, LGPC

As a counselor, I strive to support clients on their journey towards healing from a holistic and strengths-based perspective. I have experience working with managing life transitions, relationships, depression, anxiety, grief, shame, and more. I also work with clients who want to address their experiences of religion, spirituality, and/or faith in therapy. My therapy style is client-centered, process-oriented, and emotion focused. I incorporate techniques from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I believe in the inner strength and wisdom of individuals, as well as the value of compassion, authenticity, and humor.

I received a MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Loyola University Maryland. I have worked as a counselor in three different states across four major metropolitan areas. While I am originally from the Midwest, I have found a home in Maryland. I enjoy reading, spending time in nature, and spending time with loved ones.
